We all have traits of different types; some we are proud of and some we despise. Any trait or habit you have can either make your life easier, make you feel better about yourself, and earn you respect in social communities, or it can break your image. A set of good traits calls for a likeable personality, as many of my blog posts and ideology is focused on, I say that looks don’t matter as long as you have a great personality. A person with a beautiful face, but shitty attitude can turn off any respectable human being, while a good natured person with relatively average looks, can attract all the right ones. So, since I’m a human being (no surprise there), I have a set of good traits and large stinking pile of the bad ones (but no one likes to talk about those). So today, I will be appreciating 3 of my traits that sometimes I criticize, sometimes I love, but will never want to leave.
1. Perfectionism: I just realized this fact about my self that I’m a total perfectionist. I need to have the thing done exactly the way I want it to. No forgiveness. Organising, making to-do lists, and accomplishing the tasks to absolute perfection are some of my hobbies. It gets very uncomfortable at times, but in the longer run, it has always proven to be very helpful.
2. Thirst to Improve: I have always been the kind of girl who loves to hang out and chat up with old people just so I can hear them tell me their incredible stories. Experience really does matter, I’ve realized. I have always loved to improve myself and welcome criticism with my arms spread wide. It’s a thirst for knowledge. I want to know as much as I can, and implicate it in my life, and most of all; I want to make my self as perfect as I can in every way possible. (Refer to point one.)
3. Honesty: Honesty really is the best policy. There is a really good quote in Urdu, which roughly translates into, “The taste of truth is bitter, but it’s effect is sweeter than the honey.” I don’t believe in diplomacy. I’m a straight forward person, and would love straight forward, to the point answers. What I like about myself is that I try to be as honest as I possibly can, which includes accepting my flaws (because no one likes to do that), laughing at my mistakes (because that makes life so much better), and just being honest with all. What’s right will stay right no matter what anyone says, and what’s wrong will stay wrong no matter how large of a population enagages in it.
Well, that’s about it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading this. What’s your favorite trait about yourself? Hit like and leave a comment because that always makes me smile.
Till next time,
